In heaven, after trying to get settled down, and destroying King Kai's newly built house, King Kai then decides it is hopeless for them to stay, they decide to travel.  King Kai then talks about the Grand Kai who Goku is interested in getting training from, they teleport to King Yamma's for a plane to travel to the Grand Kai's planet.

Upon arriving to the Grand Kai's planet, Goku meets up with Pikkon, another strong fighter from the west quadrant.  When they meet the Grand Kai, he asks Pikkon to go to HFIL and take care of Cell and his henchmen who are trying to escape,  he takes off and Goku follows to help.  In HFIL, Goku meets up with Goz and Mez who tells them what has happened.  Goku finds Cell and Frieza and his father, and dispatches the Ginyu force with ease.  Cell attacks, Pikkon charges and attacks Cell and drops him then with one punch, he knocks out Frieza and his father then throws them in jail.

The Grand Kai decides to hold an afterlife tournament in honor of the North Kai's death.  First things first, Goku must beat the East Kai in her motorcycle to qualify for the race.  Once the go is said they take off, neck to neck and at the finish line, to their surprise, the Grand Kai himself was there waiting for them, claiming he entered the race himself.  Both Goku and the East Kai lost, but Goku has been given the chance to fight in the tournament.

The tournament begins, a few fighters fight, Goku is up next.  He is put up against a huge caterpillar-like fighter who gets a hold of Goku and tickles him.  Goku breaks free and gave him a  pounding.  The creature then decides to transform, and the South Kai said he would take 3000 years to transform, Goku wins the match by default.

Round 2 begins, and Goku is up against a fighter from the East who is best at fighting in water, takes quite a pounding, then transforms the entire ring into a water ring where he can fight better.  He gives Goku a pounding for a while, then Goku uses the solar flare then flies high above the ring and fires a Kamehameha and knocks out the Eastern fighter out of the ring.  Goku is declared winner!

Up next is Pikkon and a fighter from the north.  They start off quite even, Goku watches in amazement on how polished their skills are.  The fight continues, then Pikkon seems to be gaining the upper hand!  He then sends the other guy slamming against the wall and wins.  The guy gets back up and flies to the ring and shakes Pikkon's hand for a fight well played.

Round 3 begins and a few fighters start off the match.  Goku is up against a huge dragon-like creature who is powerful, but is no cigar.  They fight, the dragon seems to have the upper hand for a while, throws a huge rock at Goku, but he destroys it then lands in the ring.  After searching for his power, Goku fled to where he was and gave him a kick in the belly thus knocking him out and taking the win into the final bout!  Pikkon is next, and tosses his opponent with ease.

Final Round, its Goku vs. Pikkon!  They start off in a sort of sparring way blocking each others punches and kicks, then come together in the center of the ring where Goku and Pikkon are holding against each other by their hands and arms.  Goku begins pushing Pikkon to the edge then Pikkon starts holding his ground just barely at the edge of the ring, then starts pushing Goku back.  Goku increases his power so Pikkon can't push him and further and tries to kick him, but Goku lands on the other end of the ring.

Pikkon then takes off his hat and belt then throws it at Goku, making a loud bang on the ground.  Goku picks up the heavy hat, which is weighted clothing that Piccolo wears, then tosses it aside.  Goku, knowing what he has to do, powers up to SSJ!  Goku starts the round with a Kamehameha and a few scattered shots, Pikkon dodges them then uses some sort of Cyclone attack on Goku getting him caught in it.  Goku resists and powers up to USSJ to get out of it then Powers up using a Super Kaio-Ken power up, knocks Pikkon to a rock above.  Goku tries using a Kamehameha but Pikkon pushed it back and knocked Goku off his feet.

Goku takes the fight in the air where they both fire a blast at each other (the blast follows them around), and when they come head on, they pull up and the blast explodes in the air sending each warrior flying out.  They both touch the ceiling then return to where they were fighting.  Goku throws a Kamehameha at Pikkon and he smacks it aside!  They fight some more till Goku is knocked on the ground.  Pikkon lands then uses his powerful Thunder Flash attack and fires it at Goku.  Goku tries to hold it, but it knocks him down and badly damages him.  Pikkon uses it again and Goku tries harder to block it, but is knocked down again.  Pikkon flies overhead to look and see if Goku is down, but Goku gets up and is barely hanging in there!  Pikkon lands in the ring once more and uses his Thunder Flash attack again, giving Goku what he needed: a weak spot.  Goku uses his instant transmission technique to get behind Pikkon while he was firing the attack, uses a Kamehameha and sends Pikkon to the wall.  Goku is declared winner!  King Kai celebrates his win!

Pikkon congratulates Goku and wishes him a good private lesson with the Grand Kai.  However, the Grand Kai was going thru the rule book and asks Goku if they both touched the ceiling, Goku acknowledged and the Grand Kai said according to the rule book, the ceiling is the same as the outside of the ring, if anyone should touch it, u are immediately considered out of the ring, but since both fighters touched the ceiling, there is no winner.  Goku then gets a tip and continues his training in the afterlife.  

Scene moves on to the future where Gohan is now a teenager getting his lunch from his mother while she gives him her love before he flies to his first day in high school.


Onto the Great Saiyaman Saga...
